OUR BRAND, OUR PRODUCT
Fully local national baby formula based on goat milk is produced in Aydin which is Turkey’s first and only product. Mass production of infant and follow-on formulas from goat milk, examples of which are rarely seen in the world, was started in Kocharli by the company Kecicik. While most of it is exported, anyone can buy it online on www.babygoat.com.tr.
The company Kecicik, that produces baby formulas closest to breast milk from the milk of Swiss Saanen goats in the factory built on 35 thousand m2 of land, took the third place among the countries of Europe that produce national baby formulas. Milk obtained by Swiss Saanen goats at the factory with a milk processing capacity of 10 tons, that’s located on Cincin road is processed daily. From now on, babies of Turkey will consume local and fully national goat milk based baby formulas BabyGoat®.
NON-GMO BABY FORMULA
By pointing out that the most valuable that comes after breast milk is goat milk, Chairman of Kecicik Metin Sechim says: “Our most precious assets – babies, have always been fed with formulas brought from outside. Never we produced our national formula. The first and only baby formula is being produced in Aydin. Considering that 90% of baby formulas in the market are of cow milk, we decided to produce from goat milk which is closest to breast milk due to its nutritive values. We have a R&D efforts of over 3 years. Firstly, we started by breeding our goats in our farm. Later on, we started researching how can we grow them to get higher quality milk with higher fat proportions. We are feeding our goats with non-GMO products since 3 years. Because the products we provide to our babies must be without GMO. While improving our generation, we also paid attention to their nutrition. Totally took care of natural nutrition. That is why the milk obtained by these goats is very valuable. By the end of three years, we started production of Turkey’s first and only world standard baby formula at our integrated facility and factory”.
PRODUCED TWO TYPES OF BABY FORMULAS
Deputy Chairman of Kecicik Engin Yigit, mentioning that the first and only goat milk based baby formula of Turkey is launched to the market in two different types, said: “Infant Formula 1 is specially formulized for infants of 0-6 months of age. Follow-on formula 2 is specially formulized for babies at the age of 6 months and above. We are working on increasing the availability of this special product that we call national baby formula in Turkey. Our products are available at medical stores, as well as on the internet. We have created a platform through which consumers can reach us online and order products to be delivered home”.
'NATIONAL BABY FORMULA PUT BIG RESPONSIBILITIES ON US'
Noting that production of national baby formula put big responsibilities on them, Yigit said: “Our biggest responsibility was to produce a world-class quality product in accordance with our cultural values and present it to the world market. Until now we raised our babies by feeding with imported products produced abroad. From now on we want to grow our kids with our national products, as well as provide an export item to Turkey to reach the overseas markets”.
Shelf life of baby formula produced by Kecicik is two years. By emphasizing that the milk obtained from Swiss Saanen goats is processed daily, Yigit said: “We enrich our formula by adding various minerals and vitamins to goat milk. Its biggest specialty is that all the proteins entering are sourced from milk. There is no separate protein added. There are no added preservatives. Only minerals and vitamins are added in order to enrich the formula. We do not use any additives to prolong its shelf life or for any other purpose. Formulas are sugar free. Our aim is not saleability of the product. By calling this a national baby formula, we do not look at the numbers, we just aim to feed our babies with a proper quality food. From now on, there is natural national baby formula produced in Turkey. The plant in Aydin is the first in Turkey and the third in the world”.
